When we met, our clients’ renovation was weeks behind due to the delays. Christmas was fast approaching. They had architecturally drawn plans for the kitchen but they wanted their bathroom and laundry renovated too.
To deliver the entire project before Christmas, we helped in a number of ways.
1. Design services working from existing architectural plans
We took our clients’ existing plans for their kitchen and used our in-house design service to improve the plans and adjust them to incorporate a new bathroom and laundry.
Our clients loved the fresh, modern layout we created: a stunning L-shaped kitchen with a kitchen island, a combined laundry and bathroom, as well as a huge master bathroom.
2. Brokering service — sourcing a dream team
We arranged for tenders from our trusted network of builders, joiners and bench top companies. After assessing their quotes, we presented our clients with cost comparisons and our recommendation for the perfect team to do the job.
We negotiated with the suppliers and were able to get our clients a discount that equated to the deposit they had lost with the previous kitchen company. We also saved them a few thousand dollars on top of this.
Our clients engaged the entire team we put forward.
3. Working with our clients’ interior designer
Throughout the design and build, we closely liaised with our clients’ interior designer(Schemes and Spaces), who was responsible for choosing the materials, finishes and colours.
4. Stepping in and doing the work
The transformation involved knocking down two dividing walls in the laundry area, removing and replacing the kitchen and changing the footprint in the other areas.
Given the tight timeframe to deliver the project before Christmas, Blake (our owner) stepped in to help and got his hands dirty — ripping out the old kitchen and joinery. To make sure our clients could have their dream home finished before Christmas, Blake had negotiated a free day of his own manual labour with the builder.
