A beautifully considered Airbnb residence, where custom joinery and curved, guest-focused design create an effortlessly welcoming retreat, delivered in collaboration with Sherocon Building.
Working alongside Sherocon Building and Carole from Studio Whiting, we managed the full joinery procurement process for this exceptional luxury residence in Calabash Bay – distributing detailed design specifications, evaluating competitive submissions, and presenting evidence-based recommendations that enabled Carole and her clients to select a premier joinery supplier with confidence. Our rigorous assessment ensured the chosen supplier met the standards of craftsmanship, service, and quality that this prestigious project demanded.
Perched along the Hawkesbury River northwest of Berowra Waters, Calabash Bay Lodge is a beautiful guest retreat that balances elegant design, functionality, and a breathtaking natural outlook. Carole Whiting’s brief was simple but ambitious: a space that felt elegant and genuinely welcoming, where guests could relax and truly feel at home. The kitchen sits at the heart of it, its curved island bench serving as both a working kitchen for an in-house chef and a convivial bar for guests. Vagli Oro marble from Artedomus anchors the palette, its crimson and caramel veining sitting alongside pale grey cabinetry, light timber, and gunmetal hardware – refined without ever feeling cold. Curves carry through the home as a softening thread, and a bath positioned to face the full width of the river ensures the surroundings are never far from view. The result is precisely what Studio Whiting strives for on every project – a beautiful, personal, and functional space that enhances the wellbeing of all who inhabit it.
