Nestled in the coastal suburb of Bronte, the Auld Residence is a contemporary new build by Studio Johnson that reimagines a once-dated dwelling as a striking sculptural home. Expansive, light-filled living zones define the layout, with expressive concrete curves flowing from outside in and finely detailed timber adding warmth and texture throughout. The home’s excellence was recognised with the 2019 Master Builders Residential Housing Award for Outstanding Residential Build $4 million and over.
We worked closely with carefully selected joiners and stonemasons to ensure every element of the bespoke joinery strengthened both the functionality and visual clarity of the home. The result is a confident interplay between bold architectural form and considered detailing – where smart storage, expansive glazing and a restrained material palette all work together to connect the home to its landscape and the family living within it.
